Legos

Did you ever play with Legos as a kid?
I played with them for hours, would get lost in my own world and lost track of time and space when I played with them!

Imagine your mind as a vast collection of Lego pieces. Just like Lego comes in various shapes, sizes and colors, your mind consists of different thoughts, emotions, memories, and experiences.

Some Lego pieces might be old, discolored and worn, representing past experiences. While others may be new, vibrant, representing your present thoughts.

Think of your MIND as the container that holds the Legos, constantly organizing and connecting them in unique and various ways to create a sense of self.

Think of our CONSCIOUSNESS as the awareness we get to bring to the act of playing with Legos.

When we were kids playing, we were fully engaged in the process, aware of the pieces we were using and at the same time, aware of the creation we were making. We got to fully choose where we were putting our attention and ... until our mom called us down for dinner.

Our consciousness is the child (you) that observes and experiences the Lego building process, just as we observe our thoughts and experiences as they arise. We can choose to focus our attention on different aspects of thoughts and experiences.

THOUGHTS are like the individual pieces. Each piece is a building block that can be used and combined with others to form complex structures and cities.

Just as you can choose which Lego pieces to use and how to combine them with other pieces, YOU have the power to choose which thoughts you engage with and how to arrange them in your mind. Sometimes the pieces fit together effortlessly, fitting into your mental creation and other times they might need rearranging or swapping out in the pile of plastic pieces on your bedroom floor or maybe, just maybe it was the one that somehow made it under your bed.
